A Saul Alinsky-tied group has been awarded a $56 million federal loan to start up a nonprofit health insurance company — one of several organizations across the country this week tapped to launch a new network of insurers under the sponsorship of the federal health care overhaul.

The Wisconsin group, Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative, was awarded the funding on Tuesday. According to the Department of Health and Human Services, the group is expected to provide coverage statewide within five years after starting on a smaller scale in early 2014.

Yes, I know that the system is broke, but didn’t someone allude to “Death Panels”? Wouldn’t “subpar”, kinda’, maybe, sorta’ LEAD to DEATH?

Federal judge to seniors: take Medicare or lose Social Security theblogprof  via Instapundit

This week marks the first anniversary of ObamaCare, and if you are wondering where that coercive law is headed, we’d point to a case in federal court. That’s where Judge Rosemary Collyer has ruled that Americans have a legal obligation to accept subpar government health benefits.

It remains a remarkable fact that America obliges most citizens over the age of 65 to take that rickety government health plan known as Medicare. Judging by today’s growing number of health-savings options (HSAs, medical FSAs), some Americans would prefer to maintain private coverage upon retirement, rather than be compelled into second-rate Medicare.

Social security is not a right as the ruling class keeps telling us, it is a privilege to be doled only to those that tow the big government line and will behave the way the ruling class wants them to behave:

[T]he idea of patient choice offends many in government, and in 1993 the Clinton Administration promulgated so-called POMS (Program Operations Manual System) rules that sayseniors who withdraw from Medicare Part A (which covers hospital and outpatient services) must forfeit their Social Security benefits

Choices here, between Obamacare and “subpar” Medicare. Which of these (or all) would you indicate is correct:

Dilemma: a choice between two or more options, none of which are attractive.

False dilemma: only two choices are considered, when in fact there are others.

Catch-22: a logical paradox arising from a situation in which an individual needs something that can only be acquired by not being in that very situation.

Morton’s fork, and a double bind: choices yield equivalent, often undesirable, results.

Blackmail and extortion: the choice between paying money (or some non-monetary good or deed) and suffering an unpleasant action.

..As of January 1st 2011, I no longer have health insurance. Now, I wonder why I will no longer have health insurance?

I have no sensors attached to my body, so it can’t be that my soon to be former coverage, detected any physical doom to befall me.

Hmm, could it be that an obama and his merry band of Commucrats, rammed through an ill gotten, not read by most if not all, piece of legislation commonly know as obamacare?
