ANZAC Day 2016: The Glass Treasures of Vignacourt.

Aces!

The mind is an unexplored country.

In 2010 Australian photographer Ross Coulthart became aware of a collection of photos from the First World War. They were the work of Louis and Antoinette Thuillier, photographers in the northern town of Vignacourt. Most of the photos discovered to that time featured British soldiers, but here and there Australian Diggers were seen in the background. Coulthart, with assistance from professional and amateur historians, was able to meet in 2011 with the descendants of the Thuilliers. They took him to the farmhouse attic and, for the first time in nearly a century, the glass plates that preserved the images of many hundreds of Australian soldiers saw the light of day.

Identified in this photograph are 3750 Corporal (Cpl) Robert Chaffey Stuart (third from left) and 3489 Private (Pte) John Charles Bitton (fourth from left). Stuart, a labourer from Naracoorte SA, embarked with the 12th Battalion in December 1915, was transferred to the 52nd Battalion in March 1916, and then to the 13th Light Trench Mortar Battery in July of the same year. In January 1919 he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal. My, Me, Moi, This Little Kid In Response To A Damn Good Bloke in Australia, As To Why..

..I Desire Ted Cruz Over tRUMP..

In reply to Gregoryno6.

Did in fact enjoy it, mate. Even viewed a fellow that wore a fedora commenting lol.

My opinion of tRUMP is based on the difference between being blunt and honest and being down right mean and offensive. In my mind and millions of others, regardless their status is, he is not a “conservative”, in its definition. Granted a “simple definition” indicates dislike of change.

His past in words, actions as well as donation(s), point to, all for the glory of tRUMP and ONLY tRUMP. He’s an experienced opportunist. Those with differing opinion(s) to his are blasted with his “mean and offensive”, and in his mind have absolutely no value and are considered to be rubbish, as is/are the individual or individuals stating their opinions. While a God’s plenty may think “mean and offensive”, stating so in public is a whole different ballgame.

Could just see, read or hear HIS disagreements with say the leader of China, blurted out: ‘He’s yellow slant eyed bastard’, for instance. OR in reference to a FEMALE world leader with whom he disagrees: “You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her wherever.”, as he stated concerning Fox Channel Megyn Kelly. Or outright saying, ‘She’s a BITCH!’. And somehow, words that he used would see the light of day.

Ted Cruz is despised by many in his own party for his strong opinions of their positions, and in doing so being blunt, but to my knowledge he has yet to say anything in a “mean and offensive” way, such as ‘he/she is a dumb bastard/bitch’, the permanent elitist’s of the today’s political parties in the USA wish to remain permanent elitist’s. It IS the NEW American way unfortunately.

As to Ted Cruz:

As Texas’s Solicitor General, Ted Cruz has argued in front of the US Supreme Court nine separate times, more than any other sitting US Senator. Out of those nine cases, he won five. Since simply having the opportunity to argue a single case in front of the USSC is quite impressive, Cruz’s background is considered highly esteemed.

As to the four cases he did lose, I don’t think he BLURTED out..’You Black Robed Assholes!’

One of the better, if not the best report and headline of the day..

Surgeons reattach toddler’s head to neck following near-death car accident

Thanks to what doctors call “a miracle surgery,” an Australian toddler is on the mend after enduring a near-death car accident that caused his head to detach from his body.

The Sun reported that 16-month-old Jackson Taylor was riding in the car with his mother and 9-year-old sister when they collided with another vehicle driven by an 18-year-old man at about 70 mph. The crash caused an internal decapitation, in which Jackson’s head became removed from his neck.

Jackson was airlifted from the site of the crash to a hospital in Brisbane, Queensland, on the eastern coast of Australia, where surgeons began a six-hour procedure to save the toddler’s life.

Dr. Geoff Askin, known as Australia’s “godfather of spinal surgery,” led the operation, which involved attaching a halo device to Jackson’s skull, holding him completely still while reattaching his vertebrae using a tiny piece of wire, and then taking a piece of Jackson’s rib to graft the two vertebrae together.

“A lot of children wouldn’t survive that injury in the first place,” Askin told 7 News Melbourne, “and if they did and they were resuscitated, they may never move or breathe again.”

Askin told the news station that Jackson’s condition was the worst injury of its kind that he’d seen.

 Damn Good Onya’ Mates!

Hope the lad grows and lives a normal healthy life..
