University of Exeter lecturer tells Global March to Jerusalem protesters, “the only way we can stop Israel is to act against it.”
University of Exeter lecturer Ghada Karmi, speaking to protesters converged near the Israeli Embassy in London, went on to say that she “respects all religions” but that one should not be allowed to take over the city.
Karmi also said that Israel does not deserve to continue as a state.
“We have no alternative but to act. The only way we can stop Israel is to act against it, against its interests, against its apartheid and policies,” she told a gathering of around 200 protesters.
The Israeli Embassy was closed at the time for Shabbat.
Organized by the radical fringe group the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, the protest marked the Global March to Jerusalem event, which called for worldwide demonstrations against Israel.
Seems as though some Jews believe A kibbutz, is synonymic with a A gulag. So does a NON Jew, Obama..
Jewish Dems cool on ’67 borders Politico via Newsalert
“A two-state solution agreed upon by the Israelis and Palestinians should be negotiated through direct talks, but it is important to remember that a full return to the 1967 borders will be indefensible for Israel and that talking with terrorists who want to destroy Israel is a non-starter,” Rep. Steve Rothman (D-N.J.) said in a statement issued Friday morning.
Rep. Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.) said the president “omitted or glossed over several themes,” and noted that “such territorial adjustments would be very significant so that Israel would no longer be nine miles wide at its narrowest point.”
And Rep. Steve Israel, the head of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, called the reference to the 1967 borders “gratuitous” in an interview with his hometown paper, Long Island’s Newsday.
While land swaps are widely considered a central tenet of any long-lasting peace accord between Israel and the Palestinians, many supporters of Israel take issue with the president embracing a particular demarcation before any negotiation has taken place and, specifically, a set of 1967 borders that they say would be impossible to implement without leaving Israel more susceptible to attack.
Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.), whose wife is a top adviser to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, opened up on the president on Twitter Thursday. “Remind me again, why did the ‘67 borders change? #IsraelAttacked.”
While some Jewish Democrats gave Obama a bit of grace period, Republicans of all religious persuasions criticized his tack in a series of scathing statements on Thursday and Friday.
“I strongly disagree with the President on the notion that somehow the ‘67 lines should be a starting point for any discussion having to do with the Arab-Israeli conflict,” House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.), the highest-ranking Jewish member of Congress, told CNN.
“It has been my expectation for many years, dating to the end of the Clinton Administration, that the resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict would involve a border that is close to that of 1967 but with agreed upon land swaps,” Berman said. “That is fully consistent with Israel’s right to have defensible borders and to retain its settlement blocs, positions for which there is overwhelming support in Washington.”
He also found a welcome audience from several Jewish advocacy groups, including the American Jewish Congress, the National Jewish Democratic Council and the Anti-Defamation League, the latter of which typically concerns itself with combating the denigration of the Jewish people rather than foreign policy.
Tzipi Livni, the opposition leader in Israel, also praised Obama’s remarks, demonstrating that Jewish thought in the Middle East is not monolithic.
But the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the most influential Jewish-American interest group, issued no comment on Obama’s speech, which came just ahead of AIPAC’s annual conference, at which both Obama and Netanyahu are scheduled to speak.
A spokesman for Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a Jewish congresswoman from Florida, said she would have no statement until after Obama’s speech at AIPAC.
Though it wasn’t a “demand”, do you understand where this yahoo Obama is headed? If not, you had better figure it out and quickly. What you do with your Left Wing, Self Hating Jews, is up to you. Unless of course, Obama decides without consulting, another branch of government, to umbrella ANOTHER No-Fly Zone.
Stephen Harper’s pro-Israel stand appears to be wooing Jews, and in at least three ridings, it may be enough to tip the balance in the Tories’ favour..
Maybe, JUST maybe, the Canadian Jews can knock some degree of sense, into the Leftist American Jews.
Earlier this month, the McGill Conservative & Libertarians clubs sponsored a screening of the film Indoctrinate U, a documentary about left-wing bias on university campuses in North America. A student named Haaris Khan was amongst those in attendance. The film must have made quite the impression because Khan took to Twitter and said amongst other things “I want to shoot everyone in this room,” and “I should have brought an M-16.” Khan also describedthe documentary as “a Zionist/Conservative propaganda film.” It should be noted that the screening was sponsored by McGill’s Conservative & Libertarian clubs. The day after the screenings, Khantweeted, “The jihad begins today.”
A Gaza-based radical leader says it is permissible to kill Jewish and Christian civilians while carrying out jihad, according to a document translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).
Abu Walid Al-Maqdisi, leader of the Jama’at Al-Tawhid Wal-Jihad organization, was asked about Islam’s position on killing innocent civilians during “martyrdom operations” such as the 9/11 attacks. He replied with a fatwa stating that although Islam prohibits the killing of innocents, Jews and Christians may be attacked because they are “aggressive combatants.”
Even if some of the Jews and Christians in these countries may actually be innocent, Muslim scholars “have ruled that, in the case of a surprise attack, it is permissible to kill all of them” including innocent bystanders, he declared.
Nor should jihadists refrain from carrying out attacks for fear of accidentally harming Muslims “because this would mean stopping the jihad,” Maqdisi ruled. Since “most of the infidel countries that are fighting Islam have some Muslims living in them,” jihad cannot be halted for the protection of co-religionists residing in those states.

The main stumbling block is Israel. In reality, Israel has as much to gain from the spread of democracy in the Middle East as the United States has. But Israel is unlikely to recognize its own best interests because the change is too sudden and carries too many risks. And some U.S. supporters of Israel are more rigid and ideological than Israelis themselves. Fortunately, Obama is not beholden to the religious right, which has carried on a veritable vendetta against him. The American Israel Public Affairs Committee is no longer monolithic or the sole representative of the Jewish community. The main danger is that the Obama administration will not adjust its policies quickly enough to the suddenly changed reality.
