It is sad, good friend. Had two uncles that toiled daily on trains and train lines. Upon return of this psycho, BOTH would have yanked his ass and hung him from the nearest railroad crossing sign and laughed and he kicked and struggled for air. Then, they would have left him for the vultures. Skeletal remains taken down after a year or so.

Sad JP, sad indeed when even trains are not safe no more. I come from a family of our big train era. Our Dad was a laborer on the lines; we lived right next to the main Johannesburg line near a small town in the Cape until I was almost nineteen. Trains used to be the safest mode of transport; we travelled our main line trains [our longest route Cape Town to Johannesburg is about 1000 miles] and loved every trip. How terribly sad? One day when you have money and the time, get a book called A Decent Fellow Doesn’t Work by on Lawrence Green. He was born at the start of the previous century and became our most prolific writer; his works were translated into almost every known language including Chinese. In Decent Fellow he discusses various topics on travel, and waxes lyrical about his beloved form of transport: TRAINS.

    I feel like crying.
